Consortium Projects
Current Projects
A group of intrepid lovers of Lovecraft working to bring Mythos joy to the communities it serves.
Weekly, the Consortium will be hosting a small gathering, to take place in the evening, with tea and cookies supplied by the Consortium for our guests. During these events everyone will be welcome to read literature of either their own production or of their favorite artists, and on alternating weeks movies will be watched falling within the same themes. The encouraged themes are those of Steampunk, Victorian, or Gothic Literature, but any reading will be accepted, and all film suggestions considered.
From the Queens printing press, to be ready for 2010, will be a delightful 12-month calendar containing images of the beautiful and alluring women of Wonderland. Derived from characters in Carroll’s "Alice In Wonderland" books, each of these images will be done by our own ‘21’ and show a darker, more sensual view of the world through the looking glass. These calendars will be sold to facilitate the future events of the Consortium, with a portion of each sale being donated to St. Judes Children's Hospital.
Future Projects
These grand gatherings of the Consortium are geared as a celebration of our Evergreen kingdom of Wonderland. At these fine events drinks and snacks will be served to our constituents, competitions will be held with prizes for those who win the Queens favor, and in the evening Dances will be held with minstrels from around our Wonderland. Each event will have its own flavor, and its own story going on within and throughout.
This is a bit of a public service project, localized to Evergreen, and specifically to the area known as the Soup (This is the Dorm area, so named because each building is designated by a letter). While the project will ultimately extend to cover the entirety of the Soup area, our primary focus is going to be the area where the smokers’ tent is located. Current schemes (subject to change) include updated landscaping, a wooden structure to replace the smokers tent, subtle ground lighting, a couple new benches, and flagstone paths to assist our handicapped residents to get to the smokers area, which can be a challenge for some of them. With luck power cords and network connection boxes may also be added to increase the utility of the area.
Madame Locklights Literary Journal is a monthly periodical intended to provide a creative outlet for those lovers of Steampunk, Gothic, and Victorian style and literature. We will accept everything from short literature, instructional articles, and recipes, to all forms of 2-D art. The subject matter can be whimsical to erotic, but must be within the genres listed above. The journal will be available in both digital and hardcopy. The journal will accept submissions from everyone, but students at Evergreen will get priority.
